Dr. Rossitza Krasteva was born in Varna on March 5, 1970. She is a graduate of Sofia Medical University (1994) and has two specialties: Internal Diseases (2001) and Oncology (2005). She has specialized in university hospitals in Turin (Italy), Athens (Greece), Munich (Germany), Basel (Switzerland). Dr. Krasteva has worked in the Clinic of Medical Oncology at “Queen Joanna – ISUL” University Hospital in Sofia (1995-2012) and in the Medical Oncology Department at “Serdika” Hospital, Sofia (2013-2014). Since November, 2015 she is the head of the department of Medical Oncology at the Oncology Center of “Uni Hospital”, Panagyurishte.

She is a consultant at oncology committees in other hospitals in Bulgaria. Her professional and scientific interests are chiefly in the field of medical oncology (breast cancer in young women, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, gastrointestinal stromal tumors).

Dr. Krasteva has participated in numerous national and European congresses. She is an active member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the Bulgarian Medical Association, the Bulgarian Association of Medical Oncology (BAMO), the European SocieTy for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO), the Balkan Union of Oncology. She was elected the first chairman of the Young Oncologist Club.

Dr. Krasteva is a laureate of the prestigious annual Contribution to Healthcare award of the St. Ivan Rilski Foundation in the category of Oncology for 2017. She has been elected Doctor of the Year of Uni Hospital for 2018.
