GENERAL INFORMATION

The Clinical Laboratory at the Uni Hospital General Medical Treatment Facility carries on the tradition of Sabo Nikolov Hospital with over 60 years of history. It is equipped with the latest generation of equipment and is the leading interdisciplinary unit within the structure of the hospital. It implements and performs the most advanced diagnostic methods of chemical and cellular composition of the human body – in norm and pathology.

Its activity is focused in three directions:

1. Pathobiochemical tests
2. Analytical tests
3. Information-diagnostic tests.

Its aim is to achieve the maximum volume of clinical and laboratory tests using high analytical and diagnostic reliability, specificity and credibility, thus meeting the requirements of clinicians and patients through the implementation of the Clinical Laboratory Medical Standards and Good Laboratory Practice Regulations.

The laboratory is certified by the National Systems of External Quality Assessment and has received a maximum assessment score in its accreditation in 2017.

There are two Clinical Laboratory physicians working in the laboratory together with Biologists, Chemists and Medical Lab technicians.
