The Department of Nervous Diseases with Uni Hospital offers modern diagnostic procedures and treatment of diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system are performed: cerebrovascular, degenerative, demyelinating, dementia, epilepsy, vertigo, various forms of headache, radiculitis, plexitis, polyneuropathies, back pain and vertebrae disease, neuralgia, neuritis, vegetative nervous system disorders, neurotic conditions, etc.

The Department has modern equipment for routine and highly specialized neuroscience examinations: a 32-channel electroencephalograph and an integrated video-EEG and polygraph-electromyography, duplex sonographer with the option of ultrasound angiography and functional diagnostic imaging.

The Department also provides a consultative, expert and scientific and research activities in Neurology and its adjacent areas in medicine.

The team of the Department consists of neurologists who hold certificates of the main high-specialized activities and is headed by Assoc. Prof. Irena Velcheva, MD, PhD.
