A MODERN DEPARTMENT WITH EXPERIENCED SPECIALISTS

A modern department with experienced specialists

The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care holds the 3^rd level of competence, and has 17 beds. The Department employs 16 physicians, 8 of them with specialty and 3 graduates, 25 nurses in the Intensive Care Unit and 12 in the Anesthesiology.

Within the hospital’s overall activity, physicians in the Department perform anesthesia for the purposes of general surgery, pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, oncology, urology, and OB&GYN.

In addition, the scope of anesthesiological activity is limited to general inhalation anesthesia, intravenous anesthesia and local anesthesia. In order to provide care to patients who are difficult to be intubated, we have videolaryngoscopes and a videobronchoscope.

All patients with severely impaired vital functions, regardless of the nature of their underlying disease, are being treated at the Intensive Care Dept.

For this purpose, the Department has a state-of-the-art ventilation devices, high-class monitors and devices capable of monitoring the central hemodynamics, breathing parameters, bismonitoring –monitoring for patient wakefulness and depth of anesthesia, as well as intracranial pressure measurement.

In order to foster the constant improvement of the physicians’ qualifications and skills physicians working in the Department attend annual events held by the European and world congresses, scientific conferences and specialized forums in Europe and the world, trainings and specialization courses in elite European clinics on various aspects of intensive care and anesthesiology.
