A MODERN DEPARTMENT WITH EXPERIENCED SPECIALISTS

The Surgery Department has the third – the highest – level of competence.

It is organized and located in accordance with the medical standard of surgery, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, pediatric surgery, plastic-reconstruction surgery, aesthetic surgery, urology, obstetrics and gynecology.

It has 6 hi-tech theaters, and one of these is a hybrid operating theater – the highest level of resolving work of both single-disciplinary and multidisciplinary teams in the field of vascular surgery, neurosurgery and, if necessary, in a complex with the other surgical specialties.

In the Operational Unit, the largest in volume and complexity surgical interventions can be performed, since, along with the hybrid operating theater, all the other theaters are equipped with laparoscopic equipment, with two highest-class neurosurgical microscopes, X-ray equipment (C-arm and cogel), endoscopic equipment for upper and lower endoscopy, cystoscopy and hysteroscopy, ultrasound equipment for intraoperative ultrasound, modern information system for control of vital signs before and after surgery and direct connection to the structures of diagnostic imaging and clinical laboratory, microbiology and all other structures of the medical facility. It also has a vacuum mail connecting each theater with the rest of the hospital complex thus enabling rapid dispatch of biological materials to both the Department of Pathoanatomy and other laboratories.

The Surgery Unit also has rooms for transferring sick patients and a hall for pre- and post-anesthesiology treatment of patients entering the Unit as well as endoscopic examination rooms.
