The Diagnostic Imaging is one of the priority sectors developed at Uni Hospital General Medical Treatment Facility. The Department has integrated state-of-the-art equipment and a personalized approach to patients.

All examinations performed at the Diagnostic Imaging Department are processed, distributed and stored using a PACS system allowing continuous access to previous examinations and a possibility of carrying out comparative assessments. This system is also connected to the integrated inpatient information system providing full access to a patient’s file and all their examinations, tests, past diseases, treatment, etc. Images can be remotely transferred and consulted with reference centers by means of telemedicine.

Examinations and consultations (including 2^nd opinion) in the Dept. are carried out after a booked appointment in advance. Depending on the complexity of image processing and medical analysis, results are read within 24 hours of the examination.

The applied methods are based on the main radiation protection principle of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) – by reducing radiation to its reasonable minimum.

Physicians working at the Department are Diagnostic Imaging experts of recognized specialties, profiled in various sub-specialties, working according to European and world standards in good medical practice and applying a number of innovative examination techniques in the various areas of their specialty.
