Dr. Rumyana Valkova graduated in Medicine in 1997. In 2010, she acquired a specialty: Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Valkova has worked:

• as a physician at the ER Center – Sofia;
• at the ER Department of St. Anna General Hospital as a physician and deputy Head;
• at the Regional Health Insurance Fund – Sofia region as a physician supervisor;
• as Director of the Medical Activities Unit at the Regional Health Institute – Sofia District.

Dr. Valkova holds a Master’s Degree in Health Management and has completed Health Management courses and projects, also: Projects – Development and Management of Healthcare Projects, Leadership for Good Management, Recent Changes in Healthcare Legislation, Psychological Medicine in General Practice with the WHO, School of Preventive Cardiology with the Bulgarian League of Hypertension, Bulgarian Lipid Committee and Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Medicine with the Medical University – Sofia, Medicinal Plants in preventing chronic non-communicable diseases, Psycho-social counseling for children and adolescents.

Dr. Valkova is a lecturer in First Aid Care courses with the Bulgarian Red Cross.
